What is RESP?

Resilience Support Parenting (RESP) supports parents when their young person is accessing tier two and three of the RESTA programme. It was developed for parents who felt they needed further tools and strategies for supporting their young person to access school. Parental warmth, nurturance and support are known protective mechanisms for educational resilience (Borrett, 2019) and can further support the system in developing educational resilience. RESP uses a combination of relational practice alongside evidence from psychological and neuropsychological research to enable parents to support their young person when the challenges of school/college feel too much. Parents are supported to gather, listen to, and understand their young person’s views so they can better support them to regulate and respond to difficult emotions.

All RESOs are given fifty logins per year to our RESP webinar as part of their RESO package.  Additional links can be purchased by schools and parents at the cost of £10 per link.

What Parents say about RESP:

“I actually got quite emotional, this has been the best course for understanding my sons EBSA and how to support him.  I can’t thank you enough for the way you explained things and the tips you have given.”

“My daughter was really struggling every day and I felt helpless not knowing what to do. I now understand what I can do and when, I can’t thank you enough.”
